Merv Griffin has died of prostate cancer.
Growing up in the 70s, The Merv Griffin Show was a constant and dependable afternoon event for me. Truly an instrumental element in my pop culture education.

Ah, lass, me too. I loved his nutty sychophantic persona and the truly random selections of guests (Blondie! Totie Fields!) He and Mike Douglas and Dinah.
