Happy December!

December 1st, 2008

Yay for December because that means it’s YAY for online funness!

A few of my favorites to start you off:

2008 Hambox Advent Calendar!
Becky hooks up us again this year with the coolest of cool yule via her 2008 Hambox Advent Calendar. I’m honored to have been asked and trusted to contribute to one of the advent calendar days this year.

Be sure to check back daily (or better yet, subscribe to the rss feed) for beautiful and bizarre holiday delights.

Brushy Christmas Calendar
Sadly, I forgot about the time difference (Janita’s in Germany), and missed the open türchen for December 1. Be sure to scoop up her other fabulous brushes and textures at the Seishido web site throughout the month. When you get to the home page, just click on this banner to have the Christmas calendar pop up.

If Day 1’s charming vintage e-cards treat is any indication, the NML’s calendar will be worth visiting every day.

Electric December 2008 Advent Calendar
Here’s a bit from the Electric December About page. Read it quickly then run on over to the calendar!

…for the first time ever we are showcasing films from across Europe as part of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.

These seasonal ‘gifts’ have been hand-picked and brought to you by eShed.net, a website run by young people for young people (aged 14-21) interested in film and media in partnership with like-minded young creatives from Spain, Germany, Poland, France, the Netherlands, Lithuania and other regions of the UK. The team kept in touch with each other and their European contributors through the Electric December blog.

The result of all this hard work is a programme of short films that are as diverse as the continent they come from. Quirky, colourful stop motion, 2D and 3D animations, experimental dance, French hip hop music videos, bizarre pieces of skateboarding surrealism and even a soap where the patrons at the local cafe are superheroes - there really is something for everyone this Christmas with Electric December 2008.

Enjoy!
