Tot tats
I was intrigued when reading today’s ModernMom.com daily e-newsletter and saw that their Must Have item had something to do with tattoos. Intrigued because at Sofie’s daycare, her provider, Lisa, gives each kid a tattoo once a week.

Sofie’s first tat, August 2007.
Anyway, I clicked on the link to the article and was totally impressed. These tottoos are frickin’ genius.

We’ve almost all felt the vulnerability of losing sight of our child in a crowded space — at an amusement park, mall, beach or museum.
Because kids tend to wander despite our best efforts, we were thrilled to discover (thanks to a Modern Mom reader) Tottoos - a simple but brilliant idea that give parents peace of mind when traveling or visiting crowded places.
Custom temporary tattoos printed with your phone number or any important information you choose, Tottoos last over 12 hours, are water-resistant and 100% non-toxic.
Tottoos - $14.95 for a set of 15 at Tottoos.org
(Check out ModernMom while you’re at it. I’ve been tipped off to lots o’ coolio things.)
Truly, I think the possibilities for these are endless. I mean, think about it, you could stick ‘em on your bumbling, direction-challenged out of town visitors or, better yet, proactively tag ‘em on your lush friends (or your lush self) in anticipation of those beyond-incoherent stupors. Because you’re thoughtful like that.

Miscellany
Random stuff of interest:
* Your sew vein: a girl after my own obsessive compulsive grammar geek heart.
* The Oracle of Starbucks: found my way here, thanks to GHD.
* Old Navy is finally opening up in Santa Barbara this weekend:
* Chocolate Maya. How is it I only found out about this place a couple of weeks ago? Well, I guess thinking about it, it opened up about a month after Sofia came home from the hospital. New Mom + New Baby = huh?
*FELT CLUB this Sunday!! Really looking forward to checking out the mini Maker Faire, never having been to the real thing and all. (Rendez-vous in San Francisco next spring, Wendy and Geoff?) Maybe I’ll check out the felt flower class… You know, to rationalize acquiring all of that felting equipment last time. Don’t know if I’ll get there early enough for the swag bag, considering last summer’s event had folks lined up WAY early.
* I want this for my office. You know, being a fan of early/mid 20th century propaganda posters, crowns, and all things cool. If you’ve not yet checked out ReForm School, RUN, don’t walk! AND, one of my favorite artists is featured this month: the super-nice and super-talented Amy Ruppel!
